St. Jude Parish, Uchgaon

In 1989, Bishop Ignatius Lobo invited the Fransalians through the kind office of Fr. Moget to accept the parish of St. Jude at Uchgaon. Fr. Willie D'Silva, Parish Priest.was appointed to begin work there. The Parish includes centres of Uchgaon, Kini, Kovad and Kalkundri.

During the tenure of Fr. Simon Rodrigues and Fr. Joe Fernandes as Parish Priests the Moget Cottege and the Priest Residence were constructed respectively.

Majority of the parishioners are Konkani speaking and so the pastoral services are usually conducted the this language.

The present Fransalian Team includes Fr. Joe Fernandes, Parish Priest, and Bro. Thomas Kappiliparambil. On an average there are about 50 families in each centre. The Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth collaborate in the service to this mission
